2. Sponsorship For The Family Class
Family reunification remains a cornerstone of Canadian immigration policy. Families in Canada can support their relatives to come to Canada permanently. To qualify as a sponsor for your relative, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Also who you can support is: Your spouse and children under the age of 22 (there are some exceptions). Sponsorship of your parents or grandparents is currently no longer possible. However, you can introduce them to Canada in the Super Visa category.
3. LMIA Work Visa
Many applicants for Canadian immigration first receive Canadian job offers, apply for a work visa and then emigrate to Canada on this basis. The LMIA involves securing a Canadian job offer, whereby the Canadian employer applies for an LMIA through Service Canada and then the applicant applies for a work permit after the LMIA has been approved. This is a very laborious process, but can lead to a permanent stay in Canada.
